Wedding Woes: Flowers

Flowers are beautiful. They can lighten up a room, brighten a day, express a million messages just by color, stem length, and type. But they attract my nemesis. Bees. So I hate them. And really, any type of bee freaks me out, I don't discriminate. So having flowers at the wedding may be the most tragic thing I can think of. And the ONLY reason I would run.

I know, I know, if I don't have fragrant flowers then all should be well... but I don't leave things of national security level to scientific fact.. or any other type of mumbo jumbo (aka logic) for that matter. Bees seem like habitual critters to me. I mean, they do the same damn job over and over every single day. Why should the one day I'm actually holding flowers be any different? Especially since it wouldn't just be me.
"Why are you buggin'?" you ask (yes, pun intended). Well, I had a daymare a couple of days ago when my mom had me thinking about floral arrangements. Here's how it went down:

C & I were standing in front of everyone at the ceremony. I'm in my funky dress, and he's wearing... something.. That wasn't important since we haven't picked them out yet. I mean, he's only asked the best man to be in the wedding (his youngest of younger brothers). So, I look down at my flowers... flowers that were infested with huge, hairy, stinger enacted bees. Talk about a show stopper, because right after I saw that, I pictured myself throwing them (who knows where) and running away. Another option I allowed the daymare was to toss the flowers than hide in C's jacket. hahaha. That would look hilarious, and probably be the one good benefit of having a videographer.

So, what's a girl to do without flowers? Well... What do you think of these?

I like the simplicity/elegant/vintage look of it. I think it would match the dresses awesomely. (obviously in the colors of the wedding -- Fall/Autumn) I really like the matching style for the Bride's clutch, but instead of colored, it's white. All I have to do after that is figure out what kind of shoes they should wear. This is hard work! I can barely dress myself, let alone 4 other girls.

Let me know what you think?

(The clutches are handmade by Mollusa on ETSY. Here's the link to their shop. They definitely deserve credit for it! http://www.etsy.com/shop/mollusa )

I think they are beautiful and would definitely go with the elegant vintage theme.

Sounds like you are making progress!

Thanks!!! I'm 97% sure I want to do these. I'm just trying to decide if I should even attept flowers for me too or if that will throw it off... I'm thinking not. Just because I'm a scaredy cat. hahaha. Although, the person who makes the clutches also makes fabric flowers. :D that might work... haha, jk!!!

So where did this aversion to bees come from?!
