nervous

I hopefully start school this summer! I just need to take the english and math assessment tests. then I can speak with a counselor and sign up for classes on the 16th! And I can sign up for Fall classes then too. Summer starts June 6th. The sad part is that I get to quit. Yes, "get to". but it's still sad!!!

And yet, exciting :D. it'll be the first time I don't have to work while going to school since I was 16.

Anyway, the nervousness is because of the tests today!!!! eeeeek..

many pots

It's pretty well known that I like to have my hands in many different pots. it could be a good thing or a bad thing. These are the pots I"m currently in:

Blog (x4)
Pageants (volunteer/compete)
Girl Scouts (volunteer)
Work (for now)
School (soon, but I am studying for the assessment tests at the moment)
Photography

That's just the few that I could think of... well... now, I'd like to add something else.

I want to be a YouTube Sensation! lol. okay, I just think my reviewing would be easier to do if I did it on video rather than typing. And if I have a lot of fun with it. I know I'll get the haters, but there's not much you can do about them. Anyway, I want to try to tap in to that gold mind a little bit so that I can still contribute to our savings while I'm spending it on school for the next 5 years. And who knows? I might be able to use it when I stay at home most of the time with our kids (in 7 years.... that's right, pushed it back).

I was thinking of using barbies to act out some of the parts in the book... but overly dramatized and hopefully really funny. I outlined how the shows will go and how many I would do. 3 times a week. monday is a "yay! the books are coming out tomorrow!" (it has a cooler name, I just don't want it to get stolen) and Wednesday will be a viewer response type of thing (very short video). Friday will switch every other week between two things. 1st friday (the 1st is relative) will be a review of a book I've read. 2nd friday will be an opportunity to send people to a poll to vote what book I'll read next. So! here's how it'll work:

1st friday: review and announce the next book to read
2nd friday: poll here for the book to read for review on the 5th friday!
3rd friday: another review and announce of the book that was chosen on 3rd friday poll
4th friday: poll here for the book to read for review on the 7th friday!
5th friday: review from the 2nd friday poll...

make sense? so it'll be a sort of rolling poll/review. I'll start with a book I want just because I figure that I won't have too many followers right away (k, well none... but my family) and I have read plenty of books to be able to make enough to last me all year at basically 2 books a month. This will also allow me to take my time to read these and go to school and study and blah blah blah. I was thinking every week before I realized I'd be insane to do that. haha.

Okay! Tell me what you think?! I'm not really trying to break off into a star or anything, though I won't hate it if it comes to that. It initially started out as a way to get comfortable for pageants so that I can practice speaking with fluidity and be confident in what I'm saying. But I think it will really work for both. Then, when we have kids I'll already have a sort of start so I can put us up on YouTube for family to watch our day-to-day awesomeness! lol. well... it'd be an escape from your life... that's why we like those kinds of YouTube shows :D

Let me know if you have any awesome suggestions!!!

the cool thing is that I looked for book reviews on YouTube and there aren't really any... just random people with a webcam, I'm going to buy a cheap-o camera for starters and then switch to a better one if it works great for us. But I just want it to be more fun and polished than that. Plus, I'll have an excuse to play with barbies rather than just being really creepy.

Mrs California 2011

it's been a while. K, now that we got that out of the way! hahaha.

Mrs. California 2011 was this past weekend. Holy crap was it an experience. Here's my thoughts before the weekend:

This should be fun! Hopefully since it's an apply and pay type of pageant there will be a lot of inexperienced people.

Thoughts after meeting everyone:

Holy crap, I suck. (lol.. not in a bad way either!) I will probably be the lowest on the chain.

Thoughts during the actual pageant:

ah! this is so fun!

After pageant:

sleeeeeeeeeeep! yay for Christy! sleeeeeeeeeeeep! I should probably wait for another 5 years before I try again. I was the 2nd youngest, but we were totally on a different stage of life.

a few days after pageant:

I get my title until the end of the year! I should do it again next year. I need to start trying to get sponsorship now for the next year. Find somewhere to start public speaking.

So... that's how my thoughts went. A lot of "sleeeeeeeeeeeeep!" thoughts throughout the whole weekend.

here's how the weekend went:

Thursday: Craig and I drove down to L.A. (eeek!). Luckily we got there at night so we didn't get the chance to look out the windows to look at L.A.!!! Because everyone was driving so fast and we were sure to get in an accident :D. Anyway! We stayed at the Hyatt... what a nice hotel. It was pretty grand for our Marriott selves! And at the price of the Marriott. Which, the Marriott (courtyard) is really nice. I dunno, it's just, different.

Friday: got to see Angela and Melody and baby Sean!!!! Angela went to breakfast with us. Then Melody, Sean, Craig, Angela and I went around L.A. for a bit. Found the absolute best(!!) cream-white cocktail dress. I look awesome in it. Our trip out got cut short by me needing to go to orientation and the store opening of White House, Black Market. Love that store. I just wish their prices were better. I found out at Orientation that Mrs. Capital City (who was Mrs. California America 2010) actually lives in Folsom and I prevented her from using Mrs. Folsom again for a different pageant. oooops!!! oh wellz. She used Mrs. Capital City. It was silly though, she made sure I actually lived in Folsom, though she didn't know where a major road was that I actually live on. So.... I dunno.

Saturday: Rehearsals!!! from about 9am to 3pm. At 3:30pm ish we did a model walk for swimsuit to win a free weekend at the host hotel. So, that was an experience. The photographer is used to working with models right.... well, I'm not a model. I wish I would have known that he would be yelling at me to do something and I have to follow without being confused..... I mean... seriously. He's like... SLOW DOWN! WHEN YOU GET TO THE POOL TURN BACK AND LOOK AT THE CAMERA!! I do that and he's not freaking even looking through the camera! So I go slower and he's like, oh yeah, my camera and he finally effing takes a picture. I'm sorry, I'm a novice photographer, when you have a "model walk" going on, you freaking look through your camera to make sure you get the best shots! don't wait for the best shot, take the best shot. geezzzzzzus. Anyway, that just really threw me and made me upset and I really wanted to punch him in his gut. But if he can get a good picture of me then he will be forgiven.

Later Saturday we had a cocktail party that I got to wear my awesome dress to! the photographer liked Angela. he called her my agent. So we got out of there after a while and got changed to go eat some Macaroni Grill. I had pizza (yum!).

Sunday: slept in. My interview was at 9:20... it's always hard to determine how an interview goes. Everyone was coming out saying how great it was and I come out saying... it was aiight. lol. They were a fabulous group of judges... there were like... 15 I swear, so many. But hey, they chose one of my favorite contestants so they were awesome! lol.

We drove back home on Monday, I only drove for like an hour out of the 7 because I was starting to fall asleep. So poor Craig drove most of the way. But after my weekend, it was insane to be awake for long.
